Falcontech Welcomes USTB Faculty and Students to Explore Metal 3D Printing

In July 2025, Falcon Tech Co., Ltd. welcomed a joint visit from the summer research team of Beijing University of Science and Technology - the Siyuan Suxi Team and the Dingshi Lixing Team. As a pioneer and technical benchmark in the domestic metal 3D printing field, Falcontech has been deeply involved in this field for more than ten years. With its independently developed metal gas atomization powdering technology, high-precision laser selective melting and molding process and other core technologies, it has built a solid professional barrier. Its products have been widely used in many high-end manufacturing fields such as medical, automobile, aerospace and so on. The company has always adhered to the concept of "integration of industry and education, collaborative education" and attached great importance to technical exchanges and ideological collisions with college students. This collaboration with two dynamic teams not only provides students with an opportunity to have close contact with cutting-edge manufacturing technology, but also builds a bridge connecting theory and practice by jointly exploring the technological frontiers and industry development trends of metal 3D printing.

Liu Huiyuan, general manager of Falcontech Thermal Isostatic Pressing Technology Co., Ltd. and a graduate of Beijing University of Science and Technology with a Ph.D. in Materials in 1997, personally led the team to visit and started a popular science tour of metal 3D printing for the students. At the workshop site, Mr. Liu explained the technical principles in detail: from metal gas atomization to produce micron-level metal powder, to the 3D printer using a laser to weld the powder into thin metal layers layer by layer through the control system, and finally to achieve product shaping by stacking layer by layer. The analysis of each link strives to allow students to intuitively feel the subtleties of this technology. At the same time, Mr. Liu also introduced the innovative applications of 3D printing technology in various fields such as medical implants and automotive lightweight components, showing the broad prospects of technology-enabled industries and helping students clarify the general process of products from research and development to production.

After the visit, the students raised a series of questions around corporate development and personal growth, and Mr. Liu patiently answered them one by one. When asked about Falcontech's competitive advantages, Mr. Liu emphasized three core competitiveness points: first, strong professional barriers and technology research and development capabilities, which are the foundation for us to gain a firm foothold in the industry; second, accumulated knowledge and experience accumulated over the years, which are valuable assets that new entrants cannot achieve in the short term; third, stable and long-term cooperative customer groups, who have been with the company since its inception and are an important boost to our development. Regarding the internship and campus recruitment plans that students are concerned about, Mr. Liu introduced that the company has always attached great importance to attracting talents from universities, and currently there are 8 alumni from the School of Materials and the School of Metallurgy of Beijing University of Science and Technology working here. After the exchange, the students expressed that they had gained a lot. The two parties took a group photo in the company's exhibition hall, marking a successful conclusion to the visit.
